The Near West Side community is made up of different distinct neighborhoods. Most of the neighborhoods in this community have seen a dramatic change in the values of properties over the last few years. Because the area is so large and encompasses so many neighborhoods the statistics below may not paint the best picture.
The West Loop and Greektown have seen the number of condos more than double in the last five years. Many existing loft building have been converted to condos while new condo buildings seem to be popping up everywhere.
The planned developments at University Village and now Roosevelt Square have transformed the neighborhood surrounding UIC.
Tri-Taylor and Westhaven(United Center) have also seen a surge in development and rehabs.
